Circle of Impact and Spirit of Women Join Forces to Support CASA
The 2007 holiday season showcased the generosity of many of CASA’s faithful supporters, including the Circle of Impact, Spirit of Women, and participating downtown stores.
For the second year in a row, the Circle of Impact and the Spirit of Women sponsored a downtown shopping event to benefit CASA of the Pikes Peak Region. On the weekend of December 8 & 9, shoppers purchased discount coupons for participating downtown stores and restaurants. Proceeds from coupon sales were donated to CASA.
The Circle of Impact is a special philanthropy group, made up of women who are committed to the children of our community. Their mission is to ensure the financial prosperity of CASA in order to serve every child in need. The women meet three times each year to hear inspiring speakers, discuss current philanthropy topics, and enjoy each other's friendship. Each member contributes a set personal donation and participates in the planning of special fundraisers.
"We are truly grateful to have the partnership of such a dynamic and talented group of women,” said Jill Wright, CASA Resource Development Director. “The Circle of Impact invested over $40,000 last year to recruit and train more CASA volunteer advocates and support our endowment. Their dedication, along with that of their partners like the Spirit of Women, has been immeasurable."
Spirit of Women is about motivating and inspiring women to make positive changes in their lives. It’s a national movement for women’s wellness led by leading health care providers nationwide, including Memorial Health System. Through Memorial, women in the Colorado Springs area can join this program to take advantage of education and tools that focus on living a healthier lifestyle, preventive care, community wellness events, and activities designed to celebrate the mind, body and spirit of all women.
"The Circle of Impact is so very grateful to Jody Petry and Joy Garscadden of the Spirit of Women of Memorial Hospital for their wonderful support of the CASA Christmas shopping event," said Kat Jorstad. "They are committed to their downtown merchants, as well as to CASA, and they have created a partnership that is a true WIN-WIN. Joy energetically contacted all of the participating merchants, coordinated marketing materials, kept lines of communication open, and was untiring in her commitment to creating an event that was so well attended."
