Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

CASA volunteers gathered “Down Under” for the 2007 Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon held on June 2nd at the Outback Steakhouse. The food and facilities were generously donated by the restaurant. Outback Steakhouse provides in-kind services by donating food and enlisting the volunteer spirit of employees to support CASA programs on a national level.

A jazz ensemble made up of young musicians from the Colorado Springs School’s Broadmoor Academy of Music (BAM) played as guests arrived, dazzling us all with their incredible talent. Special thanks to Managing Director Steve Draper and his gifted young men for donating their time.

In celebration of the event theme, “A Garden of Thanks,” volunteers received small gifts including seed packets, potted plants, and gardening tools. To recognize long-term service, lapel pins were presented to the following volunteers:

The Broadmoor Academy of Music at the Colorado Springs School: BAM provides contemporary, traditional and classical music fundamentals essential for ensemble performance. Lessons are available for voice, piano, guitar, bass, drum, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, bassoon, flute, clarinet and electronic recording software. Outback Steakhouse: Although beef and steak items make up a good portion of the menu, chicken, ribs, seafood, and pasta dishes are also available.
