Volunteer Online Discussion Board Regulations

Are you familiar with discussion boards, or already registered? Feel free to go directly to the discussion board. If not, the following should help you understand the goal of the board and give you a few tips for getting started.

This Online Discussion Board is a way to make contact and get support from fellow CASA volunteers. Here you can ask a question, share an insight or helpful tip, and connect with other volunteers.

Some Basic Info and Requirements:

This Discussion Board was designed and produced by a software company called phpBB Group. While the discussion board is designed to be flexible, CASA has limited control over its basic functionality. However, the discussion board has features that may be implemented over time, and we may find the need to make changes based on usage patterns.

To start, anybody can view the Discussion Board, but registration is required in order to post info or reply to posts. We ask that all volunteers register using their names so we all know who we are chatting with.

It’s very important that CASA volunteers maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of others in all matters relating to assigned cases. Do not use names or reveal case specifics. Posts containing abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented, or other inappropriate material, is strictly prohibited. Such posts will be removed and this may result in a suspension of the right to post.

CASA of the Pikes Peak Region explicitly reserves the right to monitor the content of this discussion board and to take appropriate action to protect the sensitive nature of our mission.

The registration process is easy. Just follow the instructions below.

Registration and Usage

To register:

  1. After opening the Discussion Board (below), click on Register at the top of the page.
  2. Agree to the terms and fill in required registration Information – Username, valid email address, password.
    Note:
    Much of the profile and preference information is optional, and you may leave the defaults if you wish.
  3. Click on “Submit.”

To use:

  1. After logging in, click on "General Forum 1" and then "Topics".
  2. You may post a reply or start a new topic by clicking on the orange and blue buttons at the top of the page.
  3. To exit the Discussion Board, click on Log Out at the top of the page.

Notes:

  • If you have questions, click on FAQ at the top of the page. Many topics are addressed there.
  • Feel free to browse around and play with the options. Don’t worry -- you can’t do any harm to your computer or to the Discussion Board by clicking around.
