CASA 21-Day Challenge
June 1 @ 8:00 am - June 24 @ 5:00 pm
Diversity, equity, and inclusion is an important part of CASA’s mission. We would like to invite our volunteers, Board of Directors, and staff to grow together through an event called the 21-day challenge. It is not mandatory, but it is eye opening and can be life changing.
What is the 21-day challenge and how do I participate?
Beginning June 2nd, for 21 days you will be sent a newsletter via email, provided to CASA from United Way, that includes teaching points, as well as articles, videos, and podcasts for that day. You can choose how many activities included in the newsletter you want to do or have time for each day. We just ask that you do at least one of the listed activities each day, to further your understanding of power, privilege, supremacy, oppression, and equity.
There are a couple important dates to keep in mind for the 21-Day-Challenge. We will have an introduction meeting at the start of the challenge and a meeting after the 21 days to debrief and process what we have learned. As with the challenge, these meetings are optional.
June 1, 3:30pm-5pm: An introduction meeting will take place at the CASA office for everyone who wants to participate. During this session, we will describe the 21-Day Challenge in a bit more detail and will talk about why we are doing it.
June 24, 3:30pm-5:00pm: A meeting to debrief and share what you have learned or taken away from the challenge will take place at the CASA office.
If you would like to take part in the 21-Day Challenge, please RSVP to Lisa Pecoraro at LisaP@casappr.org.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to TaraL@casappr.org.
