SUMMARY:Virtual "Dudes and Brews"
DESCRIPTION:  \nCASA is seeking more male volunteers to advocate for our community’s most vulnerable boys. To receive the login information\, please RSVP with the form below. \n\n\n \n \n RSVP to Volunteer Orientation\n \n CommentsThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Your Name*What county in Colorado do you live in?El PasoTellerOtherWhich Orientation do you want to attend?*CHOOSE ONE OF THESEVirtual Orientation on March 26Teller County volunteer Orientation on March 31Orientation at CASA on April 1Virtual Orientation on April 11Orientation at CASA on April 16Virtual Orientation on April 23Coffee with CASA on May 14th at Loyal CoffeeCoffee with CASA on June 17 in Woodland ParkPlease list names of any guests who will attend with you.Your Email*\n \n Phone NumberHow did you hear about this orientation?*Networking Event or GroupPrint NewspaperI saw an ad somewhere on the internetI got a postcard in the mailI got on emailStreaming Audio (like Pandora or Apple Podcasts)Streaming Video (like YouTube or Netflix)Local TV News SegmentLocal Radio Station (not KRCC/NPR)KRCC/NPRNational CASA WebsiteColorado CASA WebsiteSocial MediaPersonal ReferralPreviously served as a CASAIdealist\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Δ \n \n\n

SUMMARY:Helping Children Thrive
DESCRIPTION:Below you will find a great opportunity for experiencing a presentation on working with your CASA children on motivation and engagement\, especially during this stressful period in their lives. Helping Children Thrive will be an interactive Zoom presentation held in two 90 minute sessions on May 18th and May 19th\, from 10:00 to 11:30 presented by Bob Sallee\, CASA volunteer. \nIf you are interested please respond via email directly to robert.sallee@gmail.com to register for this training. He looks forward to hearing from you. \nHELPING CHILDREN THRIVE \nHow can you help children thrive? Helping Children Thrive introduces research-based findings and strategies for CASA Volunteers to use and share with parents and caregivers wanting to help children reach their full potential\, whether the children are struggling or doing okay. The class will be presented using ZOOM video-teleconferencing in two interactive 90-minute sessions. Students will be asked to select one child to focus on during the class to facilitate discussion. \nThis class examines 1) Helping children become the best version of themselves\, 2) identifying and nurturing children’s interests\, 3) developmental assets that correlate with thriving\, 4) the need for children to experience unconditional love and examining how children express love and experience feeling loved\, and 5) things all kids need while growing up. We’ll look at research findings from studies of three million students\, draw from writings of child/family psychology professionals\, and share relevant life experiences about our work with children in out-of-home placement. \nResources will be provided to facilitate applying the concepts we discuss to our work advocating for children and sharing them with the children’s caregivers. \nThe class is presented by Bob Sallee\, former foster parent\, CASA volunteer and Peer Coordinator. Bob will be available 30 minutes before each session to familiarize participants with ZOOM who have limited experience using it. \nCourse completion certificates and three hours of continuing education credit will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:Does your CASA child have caring adults (who are not paid to be there) providing support and love? Does your CASA child know his family history and “where he/she comes from”? SUMMARY:Minimum Sufficient Level of Care In Service
DESCRIPTION:Minimum Sufficient Level of Care and Engagement vs. Enmeshment   November 18 from 4:00-6:00. \nPlease enter and exit through The Hanger door \n  \nMinimum Sufficient Level of Care (MSLC) is a vague standard by which it is determined if children can be returned home. The standard is sometimes confusing\, but the bottom line is always about safety and protection.  Engagement vs. Enmeshment is something advocates often struggle with in determining how to relate to the children and families we serve.  Learn the difference between the two and pointers to stay on track. \nPlease join Michael Maestas and Lois Gracz for this two-for-one training experience \nRSVP to Kate Grondin KatherineG@casappr.org

SUMMARY:Fostering Futures
DESCRIPTION:Fostering Futures \nPlease enter and exit through The Hanger door \nThe Fostering Futures program engages CASA volunteers as advocates for and advisors to foster youth ages 14 – 21. The program is built around the framework of helping youth identify supportive\, lifelong adult connections\, and to develop specific plans for their transition to become independent\, successful adults. A key principle of the training and work with older youth is the “possible selves” model to help young people achieve their full potential.  This training will arm you with the unique tools and knowledge to connect with and work with youth in our system. \nUnlike previous years\, this training will be offered bi-annually instead of quarterly\, so please do not hesitate to join us! \nRSVP to Kate Grondin KatherineG@casappr.org
