DESCRIPTION:Virtual \nNovember 13\, 11:30 am \nRegister here:  Meeting Registration – Zoom \n  \nEach year\, the Office of Colorado’s Child Protection Ombudsman (CPO) responds to over a thousand complaints from foster parents\, respondent parents\, services providers\, youth\, and many others involved in the Colorado child protection system. Each of these groups call because they are struggling to understand and successfully navigate the state’s complex child protection system. This presentation will present the most common questions\, misconceptions\, and frustrations we hear from children\, families\, and providers across the state and how the CPO assists citizens in resolving their concerns. The session will begin with an overview of the CPO’s history\, authority\, and operating procedures. Additionally\, we will discuss how citizen complaints provide a deep understanding into the effectiveness of child protection system and how the CPO uses this information to create systemic and legal change. Learning Goals (1) Participants will gain an understanding of CPO’s role\, authority\, and investigative processes. (2) Participants will gain insight into the aspects of the child protection systems that families and children most frequently struggle to understand. (3) Participants will leave with a greater understanding of how and when the CPO can be a useful resource to community partners.

DESCRIPTION:COLORADO CASA Statewide TBRI®️ Training for CASA Staff and Volunteers VIRTUAL \nJuly 22nd\, 24th\, 29th\, and 31st AND August 19th\, 21st\, 26th\, and 28th \nWith the support of State VALE funds\, CASA of Larimer will be offering the TBRI®️ Caregiver Package to Staff and Volunteers of local CASA programs across Colorado. TBRI® is an attachment-based\, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs\, Connecting Principles for attachment needs\, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. The intervention is based on years of attachment\, sensory processing\, and neuroscience research. It is primarily delivered as the TBRI®️ Caregiver Package\, which is 24 hours of training in four parts (Overview\, Connecting\, Empowering\, Correcting). CASA of Larimer County will be offering each part regularly over the next year. \nThe 6-hour TBRI®️ Overview is required before taking the following principles. It provides the basis of attachment and research on which TBRI®️ builds. The Overview is six hours divided into four sessions over two weeks. Sessions will be on Mondays and Wednesdays 11:30am-1pm. Participants must attend the full six hours consecutively.
