SUMMARY:Family Treatment Courts (View from the Bench series)

SUMMARY:View from the Bench: Active vs. Reasonable Efforts
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, October 31st\, 12-1 pm MDT \nZOOM \nCourts are required by federal law to make “reasonable efforts” findings in child welfare cases unless the case involves the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). In those cases\, the court is required to make “active efforts” findings. This webinar will explore the differences between “active efforts” and “reasonable efforts” and the important role that CASA/GAL volunteers can play in supporting children and families\, providing information to the court about active and/or reasonable efforts\, and identifying needed resources for the child/youth\, family\, and community. \nWhat if those resources don’t exist in the community? What role\, if any\, should the CASA/GAL program have in identifying those resources? \nRegister: https://nationalcasagal.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_pqIB1xQNT1Or0X_4TmY2-A#/registration \nProgram ID #: 10073 \nOrganization: CASA PPR \nJob Title: Advocate \nPlease note: If you are unable to attend the live presentation of the training\, we encourage you to register\, as you will receive a post-training email from the National CASA/GAL Association with information on how to access the recorded session\, along with any related collateral materials.
