SUMMARY:Brain & Behavior Research Foundation presents: ADHD: What You Need to Know – A Q&A with Dr. Stephen Hinshaw\, Ph.D. VIRTUAL
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, December 4\, 2024 \n5:00PM – 5:30PM MST via Zoom \nTeachers\, school counselors and other educational professionals are on the front line in helping students with mental health challenges and can be among the first to notice when a child is struggling. In their pivotal relationships with students and families\, these professionals are often in a position to match resources with needs. By expanding their knowledge of mental health issues experienced by young people\, school faculty and staff may be better able to intervene earlier and make referrals for evaluation and assistance which can positively impact student well-being\, performance and family life. \nThis conversation will provide educators with a deeper understanding of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and the variety of ways ADHD presents in young people. BBRF President & CEO\, Dr. Jeffrey Borenstein and Dr. Stephen Hinshaw will discuss the different ways the disorder manifests\, differences in presentation between boys and girls\, and provide advice for caregivers and educators as to how to help young people lead successful lives after diagnosis. \nREGISTER HERE:  https://bbrfoundation.org/event/adhd-what-you-need-know-qa-dr-stephen-hinshaw?utm_source=eNews+List&utm_campaign=8fa2fa6aa8-2024_BBRF_Q%26A_Stephen_Hinshaw&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_fb7d503c0e-8fa2fa6aa8-162597717&goal=0_fb7d503c0e-8fa2fa6aa8-162597717

DESCRIPTION:March 18\, 2025 \n5:30 to 7:30 \nCASA Training Room \nRSVP to LisaP@casappr.org \nMeaningful advocacy requires us to invest relationally and emotionally in the children and parents on our cases. It can be challenging to set appropriate limits on how little or how much to be involved in a child/family’s life during the course of a D&N case. Join us as we develop a stronger understanding of what active engagement and problematic enmeshment look like on a case and discuss tactics to stay objective and impartial.
