Youth Sexual & Gender Identity: Becoming a Frontline Resource

April 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

This in-service at CASA’s office will be presented by Maegan Brundage of Inside/Out Youth Services and Michael Maestas, CASA Dependency and Neglect Supervisor. Our LGBTQ+ youth are one of the most vulnerable populations in society and within the Child Welfare System. The rate of suicide is 4 times higher within this population and it is important that we are educated and are able to develop our skills in advocating for this very vulnerable population. This in-service will help volunteers become frontline resources.  Personal thoughts, perspectives and views may be challenged.  A youth panel will be present for Q&A.  Participants will practice forming recommendations in order to apply this information on their case and within their communities. RSVP to MichaelM@casappr.org
