New Advocates and SEPT Facilitators sworn in
May 13, 2025 (Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Eight new Court Appointed Special Advocates (or CASAs) and eight new Supervised Exchange and Parenting time (or SEPT) volunteers were sworn in as officers of the court over the last two weeks.
The new advocates are Ronald Colburn, Cynthia Deleon Pasion, Lexi Gonzales, Erin Nash, Rhiannon Salamone, Claudia Sedillo, Rafael Torres, and David Wood. These folks will now be assigned to an open Dependency & Neglect case within the 4th Judicial District and will advocate for the best interest of an abused or neglected child.
There are about 800 kids in El Paso and Teller Counties who need a CASA volunteer advocate each year due to abuse or neglect. These are children who are involved in the family court and child welfare systems due to being mistreated by people who are supposed to take care of them.
The new SEPT facilitators are Aidan Brown, Carmen Vazquez-Guy, Celeste’ Casillas, Daniela Silva, Irene Bombria, Kim Alvarado, Madison Crispen, and Whitney Williams. They will now complete volunteer work in CASA’s offices in both El Paso and Teller counties, facilitating parent-child visits when there is a court order for visits to be supervised.
Anyone who wants to make a difference for a child as either a CASA advocate or SEPT facilitator should attend an upcoming volunteer information session.
