Welcome new CASA staffers!

Everyone at CASA is very pleased to introduce you to our newest staff members – Michael Mersman and Laurel Abrahamsson. Michael is our new Volunteer Recruitment Manager and Laurel is our new SEPT Volunteer Coordinator.

Michael came to CASA from StableStrides, a Colorado Springs-based equine assisted therapy center, where he was the Operations and Volunteer Programs Director. During his time at Stable Strides, Michael oversaw 175 volunteers while also managing their safety and training programs.  He also has worked as the Community Engagement Coordinator with United Way of Larimer County.

“I think what I’m most excited about is meeting and working with volunteers who want to improve the lives of children in our community,” Michael said about his new role here at CASA.

Laurel came to CASA’s SEPT program all the way from Florida where she first learned about CASA while gaining valuable event planning experience as a Theta at the University of Tampa.

“I first started my journey with CASA as a freshman in college when I learned about the organization through my sorority. Once I was old enough, I decided to take the leap and go through CASA training. And now I am so excited to be able to say that I support this amazing organization in a professional capacity. I am looking forward to making a positive impact on this organization and this community,” Laurel said about her new job.

Contact information for Michael and Laurel can be found on the CASA staff contact page here.
