Fourteen new Court Appointed Special Advocates (or CASA volunteers) were sworn in as officers of the court by 4th Judicial District Magistrate Pearson at the El Paso County Courthouse in November, and three new Supervised Exchange & Parenting time (SEPT) Facilitators were sworn in in October.
Congratulations new advocates Lisa Bell, Felicia Booth Voris, Charmaine Dregalla, Sandie Dunn, Paula Glass, Kaitlyn Granville, Sherrie Holes, Amanda Miranda, Beth Still, and Glenn Wallace.
Congratulations new SEPT facilitators Ella Schwarz, Edyn Webber, and Melanie Zuniga.
Taking the oath is the final step for new CASA volunteers after completing two weeks of training on trauma, resiliency, poverty, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, and other topics.
The new volunteer advocates will now be assigned to an open Dependency & Neglect case within the 4th Judicial District and will advocate for the best interest of an abused or neglected child, while the new SEPT facilitators are now eligible to work shifts in the CASA Family Visitation Center.
