Grace Covington, local business owner and successful entrepreneur, has a huge heart for helping kids.
She and her husband, Ron, own local homebuilding company Covington Homes. Grace and Ron are dedicated to creating a culture of giving and volunteerism amongst their employees. They involve their employees in key events for the charities and non-profits they support and encourage them to volunteer by allowing time during the work week to make it happen.
One of the organizations that Covington Homes supports is CASA of the Pikes Peak Region.
“My husband Ron and I have a special place in our hearts for little children. I was not given the blessing of being a mother myself, so that is perhaps why I am so passionate about helping children,” says Grace. “By supporting CASA we are able to help children that are forgotten, neglected, in pain, and experiencing trauma. CASA helps find safe and permanent homes for these children. What better cause could there be?”
Grace was born in Denver and grew up in a family of business owners and entrepreneurs. Her mother studied interior design and is an artist and a painter. Her father was (and still is) an architect and General Contractor. As a result, Grace grew up around the Building Industry. So naturally, Grace pursed a career in homebuilding and has been successful in doing so. In 2008 Ron and Grace founded Covington Homes, which has grown into one of the top ten builders in El Paso County.
Nowadays, in addition to running the company with her husband, she is focused on giving back as both a donor and board member for CASA.
“As a Christian and a person who has been blessed in this world I believe strongly that giving back to the community in which I live and helping those who are in need is of the utmost importance,” she said. “If we help to give back and take care of our neighbors, the world becomes more beautiful not just for those who are helped but for those who give.”
In her spare time, Grace is the epitome of a native Coloradoan. In addition to beloved time with Ron and her family, she loves to ski, hike, mountain bike, ride motorcycles, and golf. She even climbs 14ers with an ascent up Pikes Peak every year.
