Events & Opportunities at The Hanger
CASA of the Pikes Peak Region offers many opportunities for teens in foster care through The Hanger, Teen Events, and Milton Foster Children's Fund.
The Hanger is located in the CASA office at 418 S Weber St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Please enter by going to behind the building and ringing the buzzer at The Hanger door. The store is open 12-3pm on Saturdays and is closed on major holiday weekends.
The Hanger and Teen Events are for teens ages 12-18 an open D&N case through El Paso or Teller Counties OR has an open D&N case elsewhere but are placed in El Paso or Teller County.
Young adults who emancipated from the foster care system can shop at The Hanger until their 21st birthday.

The Hanger will be CLOSED Saturday, August 31, for Labor Day Weekend
*Starting in July 2024, we will have a new Teen Event format. We will be holding four events per year (not including art classes) instead of monthly classes. Please encourage your teens to attend!*
Teen Event – Life Skills
Saturday, September 7th, 12:30-2pm at The Hanger
Lunch Included – Please RSVP to mfcf@casappr.org by 5pm on Wednesday, September 4th
Join us for multiple short presentations on different life skills including budgeting, safe relationships, cleaning, social media safety, and more. Event will include lunch and prizes! This event is for teens in foster care but adults are welcome to stay with their teens.

Teen Workers Needed for The Hanger
If you have a teen in foster care who is interested in working at The Hanger, please pick up an application next time they are in to shop! Teens can work on Saturdays from 11:45 am to 3pm and will receive a $15 gift card for their time. Please note, teens MUST have transportation to and from The Hanger for their shift.
Need Furniture or Household Items for Independent Living?
Please email mfcf@casappr.org what you will need and when. We work with multiple agencies who have furniture, household items, and more to donate to youth who are or have been in the foster care system and need help furnishing their apartment.
Drivers Education
DHS is currently funding Drivers Ed for youth in foster care. Please contact your foster teen's caseworker to request funding.
College Prep
Do you have a 9th-12th grader on your case? Contact mfcf@casappr.org to get free professional help preparing for college, community college, technical schools, etc. It isn’t too early to start preparing for their future or too late to apply to college for the fall!
Senior Pictures
Free senior pictures are available for teens in foster care who would like photos to commemorate their senior year/receiving their GED. Please contact mfcf@casappr.org to set up your session today.
