HELPFUL INFORMATION

  • CASA may waive the fee for the CFIT class in the following cases: Any individual who is receiving assistance from Colorado Legal Services can present a Certification of Determination of Indigency (JDF 203) signed by a Colorado Legal Services attorney to receive a waiver of the CFIT Fees. Any individual with a Finding and Order Concerning Payment of Filing Fees (JDF 206) signed by the Court, which waives his/her filing fee is eligible for a waiver of the CFIT fee. Forms JDF 203 & JDF 206 can be obtained here.

If an individual cannot obtain a JDF 206 or JDF 203, then CASA MAY grant a waiver of payment on a case-by-case basis.  To be considered for a CASA waiver, the individual must be able to show at least ONE of the following proof of documentation with the individual’s name and a current date listed:  Medicaid, food stamps, WIC, TANF, or Colorado Works. This documentation can either be brought to the CASA office or emailed to cfit@casappr.org for consideration.

The CFIT Supervisor will contact the individual within 5 days for notification of approval or denial of the waiver.  No waivers will be granted during the in-person class—this must be submitted for approval 5 days before class for consideration.
